When a brand becomes your identity 😅
Recently when I was planning to upgrade my phone~ I was seriously tempted to buy a Google pixel.
I have been using iPhone for so long, was bored and wanted to change.
But I still ended up buying an iPhone.
I can give many logical reasons to justify my purchase but honestly they will just be excuses.
The real reason is this👇
The idea of moving away from iPhone felt like a demotion. Like I was voluntarily giving up my membership to an exclusive club.
If you think logically, it’s just a fallacy and a facade.
There might be better options out there. But you rule them out even without a fair evaluation.
Emotion rules over logic, you buy and then justify.
The thruth is~ Apple doesn’t just sell products. It sells identity.
We like what (we think) it says about us- that we have taste and status.
It’s easy to switch brands, but far more difficult to switch your identity.
Very few #brands have been able to do what Apple does. For so long and at that scale.
That’s what makes it great 🫡
